The place I dreamt to see - Finland

When I was 15, I fell in love with Finland. There are no words which could explain the beauty of this country. So you can imagine how happy I was to spend one day in Helsinki recently. The little island above one day will be mine! It must be mine!

This is me in front of a design museum. Hello!

I really loved the Uspenski Cathedral. It is very poetic with its brick silhouette on the hill above the city.

Moomintrolls.

It was a design week so there were loads of little accents of design all over Helsinki. Note the bike seats!

The author of Kalevala, the Finnish national epic. It's epic.

I hope I'll be able to go there again soon. Finland is beyond beautiful!

Estonia

Winter is coming slowly and I started experiencing the seasonal affective disorder. I felt happy for some short period and then I realized it's out of reach for me.

I decided to go back in time a few days and show you my trip to Tallinn. :)
Interesting examples of architecture in Tallinn, Estonia
Typical sculptures surrounded by modern architecture

Tiny streets of the old town
We visited a car park, which has been set on medieval walls. How surprising! But also - what an atmosphere, I absolutely loved the interior!

We finished the short trip eating some food bought in Solaris on the Pirita beach. It was very soothing to sit down on a bench, listen to waves, eat and look at each other in a silent mutual understanding.

Soviet Bunker in Ligatne

Today me and my friends visited the Soviet bunker in Ligatne, Latvia. It was a very interesting visit, considering the complicated Latvian history and the fact that we could get to know some of the details of it. The scary part of it is that all of it is still working, people have 24-hour shifts in there and most of what happens there is top secret so I don't even fully know what I saw and what I didn't! Now I'm just going to show you a few pictures I've taken in the bunker:

Later we went hiking in the beauty of Latvian nature. I admired the river Gauja and Amata. We saw the Zvarte rock from above. The rock itself has a story connected to it. Just like on some other pagan rocks, a legend says there used to be meetings of devils teaching witches how to fly on their broomsticks.

Here is my Latvian language course group and me among them :) I must tell you another fun fact - so far, Latvian people seem to be a very kind nation. Looks like I will have to try hitch-hiking in this country! :)

Sun museum

Yesterday I visited the Sun Museum in Riga (Saules Muzejs). It was not only very informative astronomically, but also so much fun!
I can share one thing with you... The Sun is going to explode in a few billions of years. It will consume the planets up to Marse. But luckily there are other solar systems and galaxies, so we still have time to investigate!
In the end of the scientific part, we were asked to create our own suns. I loved this part so much!
This is the sun I made ;))
And some suns for sale :)
If you are in Riga, definitely pay this place a visit, I loved it so much! So bright and positive in this rainy weather.
I also promise to improve my blogging timing and quality as soon as I fix my current status in Latvia :)
