Street furniture and landscape design

I'm currently working on two little books or booklets (although one of them will have over 50 pages, I'm sure) and I thought I'd share a few examples of photos I'm going to incorporate there. As a teaser, let's say. The first book will be a comparison of street furniture in Warsaw and in Riga. The second one will tell a story about the landscapes in these cities. I think the topic is really interesting so I take my time and appreciate each picture I've taken. I decided to show you some pics from each city (but the majority will be from Riga), in each subject. So here we go!

Street furniture in Riga (some examples)

It's a really cute Christmas market with hats, scarves, mulled wine and gingerbread cookies.

Bench and rubbish bin design.

Safety first :)

I hope you like the pics and I'll be grateful to hear what you think about these street furniture and landscapes. Not only will it be very interesting for me personally but also might help with the work! All of the pics were taken, cropped and edited by me.

PS. I'd like to slowly transform this blog from the general topic to design, architecture, fine art and such. So if you're definitely not into it, I'm letting you guys know so that you could unsubscribe before you see my life-changing creations. haha ;) Although I'll be very happy if you stay with me!

Yours,
Kasia

  1. Hi Kasia! I like the photos, and can you tell me why the protection on the 5th photo around the corner of the building? I have never seen that;)

    good luck with your work!

  2. Hola Sara :)) The protection is around the drainpipe so that walking/drunk people don't do any damage to it, as it's in the very heart of old town :) there are many different styles of the protections, some quite decorative :)
They are going to be printed, but not published - it's just a school assignment :)
    Thank you!

  3. WOW!! YOU ARE doing a book?! Thats so fabulous! Warsaw and Riga definitely have a lot of interesting and beautiful things to look at and go to. How I wish my country would have those beautiful and clean places to stay at... :D

PS. A thought passed my mind, if Manila would have those nice hanging lamp posts on the street, they'd surely be gone the next day!

  4. I definitely enjoyed those photos since I would like to visit Latvia again this year.. when the snow is gone :) anyway, I noticed some things (buildings) are quite similar but mostly you can still tell the difference between those two places. seems to be a very interesting assignment!
